You didn't write to mom! You saw that she got a journal didn't you? Why didn't you write?

Ugh. Aiden's right. I'm going to need to find someone to lead us through Kilia, and I doubt it's going to be easy. It's been too damn long since I've been home. I'd just get us lost.

...Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky.

[Filter: Public, in Kilian]

Right. So me and a friend are going to be back in Kilia for the first time in years, and it'd be great if someone out there knew a guide to help us. I don't suppose any of you would know someone near the Dentorian border?

It's gonna be a few weeks still, and once we get to the river we're going to need to find a ferry to cross. I figure it'd be the end of the month when we'd get to Kilia, maybe early next month. It's hard to say.

Anyone~?

I still can't believe what happened on the Night of the Dead. I'm just glad Charles is no longer talking about it, it all sounds so frightening! I wonder what that person was thinking...hopefully they have the good sense not to do such a thing again.

It's getting colder now...some days it feels like it might actually start snowing. Ashford is spending more and more time inside now, always looking for someone to curl up next to. Father seems to be his favorite lately, and I think Charles is a bit jealous.

I know you're busy, but is it too much to ask you write and let me know you're okay?

[Filter: Public]

News of the slaughter of our people in the pass has devastated Lahn, and the whole city has rallied with one another in their sorrow. There have been nightly vigils in remembrance of those lost, and fights between the city guard and the refugees have subsided for the first time in months. It is relieving, in a way, but reassuring that there is still something that can bring us together as a people, and realize that there are more important things in our lives. I do not know how long it will last, but it will be nice as long as it does.

The Day of Floating Fire is just over a week away! It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating the Night of the Dead. I can't believe how fast this month has gone. It's almost half over! Helena's getting really excited too. She always loves this holiday. She keeps asking me if I'm going to light a lantern with Dairanne this year, too. I keep telling her I don't know, because I haven't talked to Dairanne about it.

Oh, I think I forgot to say that me and Sindre have found a house! Um, well, it is more like a ... floor. It's the second level of a house, and we have to share a kitchen and a bath with the people living below us, but it's very nice. There's even a little, what do you call it ... there is a box of dirt hanging below the window outside, where people grow flowers. I think it will be nice to try and grow some flowers, but Sindre says I have to wait for next year.

But I'm very happy here! It is small, but it is all we need. And I would like to make friends with the people living below us. They are an old man and woman, living together. I'm not sure if they are married or brother and sister, but I'll find out very soon!

Ah, now, there goes Lireth from the horizon. I am sorry indeed that we could not have left under better circumstances, but I am grateful indeed for all the grace and hospitality Lireth has shown despite these troubled times. If there is any aid Rowan can provide the North, it will be given forthwith.
