Well, Anita, my love, I have very exciting news for you!

My herald has just come back and informed me that he thinks we might be able to make it to Eblar by nightfall if we push ourselves very hard. Isn't that exciting?

Now, his definition of "nightfall" may be very late indeed, and I wouldn't want to push my dear sweet bride any harder than her delicate body can take it, so, please. You tell me. Should we ride hard through the afternoon, evening, and night, or arrive at a leisurely pace tomorrow? He tells me that there's a village closeby that we could impress upon for the night, if you would prefer. It's apparently very quaint. All the roofs are thatched!

Hm, I heard something very unflattering about Lord Robert Cresyn this morning~ I won't say who it was from, it's so rude to do that. They're a bit of a gossip, so it didn't come as a suprise to hear it from them! Still, I wonder if it's true? I don't know, I hope it isn't! I've always found him delivishly charming!

Before anyone asks, I shouldn't repeat~ I'm not a notorious gossip, after all! I'm sure you all know where you can hear it, you really want to know ...

I really am curious whether it's true or not, hrm! I wonder if Aes would know.

I hate to push, but we need to get moving. We really, really need to get moving.

Good to see you back on your feet regularly, girl. And with some colour in your cheeks, too. You're looking better every day.

I wouldn't be too worried about the voice. Hoarseness like that is pretty common after being down and out as long as you were. I'm sure it's going to pass sooner than you know it, eh?

All right, I've got the new recruits ruled down to four or five, and I think I can have the choice made soon enough. All tough looking ladies, though. We'll need some men when we get back to Kanemoria. Girls just don't intimidate back home, no matter how skilled they are.

Casey, girl. How's it going on that guide? Can you find one who isn't charging an arm and leg, yet? I hope you told that Maelim son of a bitch where he could put his damn rates. Robbery, that is.

Bad enough to have Philip going around saying it was old Soloman who made a fool of me. Bad enough that even Sky thinks it doesn't matter. Bad enough that everyone is still talking about him. Does Amelie have to be more drawn up into the mystery than anyone else? Does

Oh, come on. Get over it, you baby. Maybe Sky's right, maybe they'll all just forget the bastard ever knocked me on my ass and everything will be back to normal in a month.

Not likely, but possible. There's room for error, there. Unlike how badly I'm ruining my own reputation, I'm starting to see. If I keep going like this, I'm going to start being the one everyone avoids making eye contact with. Suddenly-silent rooms will be my new accessory. And there are some things worse than being made an idiot of in front of the whole court ... I suppose.

Force a smile. Nothing to be done for it.

I might not appreciate being told it, but I am being stupid.

I put my two coppers down on Amelie's name for the archery contest this evening! Did anyone else? I want names, I think we should all plan to get together and say bad things about her when she loses us all our money.

She's really been on my mind lately, hasn't she? At first I thought maybe I was just grateful to her for giving Tina the job, but it's more than that. She's just...so beautiful, so easygoing and kind. That guy who was such a jerk to her, he doesn't know what he's missing out on...why am I glad she dropped him? Why do I feel like he wasn't good enough for her?

...because she's a friend. I'm just concerned about a friend, that's all.

Right?

Well, you know it's autumn when you can't walk two steps out the door without stepping in leaves! Better rake them up soon, before it rains. Wet leaves are the worst.

Sylvester sure seems to love them, though. He plays with them more than he plays with his toys! Tina's a little hurt by this but we figure we oughta let him enjoy the leaves while he can.

Okay, so ...

I know everyone is concerned with that room and the tree puzzle, especially after what happened to Lady Celeste. I guess that explains why everyone has been so listless the last few weeks, huh? I was just blaming it on ... you know, Festival stuff. It's nice knowing there an actual explanation, I guess.

Right, but that's actually the opposite reason of why I'm writing. You -- remember it's Sawyer's birthday tomorrow, don't you? If so, I think we're the only two, heh. Even Nessa seems out of the loop, this time. I'm surprised I even ... I probably wouldn't have, except that

I just think that he doesn't deserve to be overlooked, here, don't you? We're probably the people closest to him, aside from Lady Celeste. We should really do something, shouldn't we? I think he'd be glad that we remembered. Especially right now ...

So, um, yeah. What do you guys think?

Ooh ... umm ... do you think we should head back to Rayla, for now?

We'll need to restock and give the soldiers some time to rest before we go out scouting again, won't we? I think we've been lucky, so far ... we haven't been spotted or anything so ... but I think we might have to take some of these soldiers in ... I don't know ...

Should I send the knight into Rayla with the reports or do you think it would be better to just write to them?

Can't believe it's already been a month since I've been on this ship. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing that it keeps making port, merchant vessel and all. It gives me a chance to go out and stretch my legs, I guess ... but it makes the journey all the slower.

Good thing it hasn't been making too many stops.
