Not only does he still write, he writes of plans and locations. The brazenness of it is enough to boil the blood.

My sons deserves better than that.

Do you think there is any point in sending word to Anthony about our recent Megami guest? I personally still wouldn't mind apprehending the man, even if the rest of it has all been settled.

And where were you off to in such a hurry today? Oh no, wait, wait, wait. I know already, you were going to see Amy. Weren't you? Oh Dragons, Devine, if that's where you're going every time you sneak off into the city, you must be the most devoted boyfriend ever.

Oh, um.

And, um. Thanks. For everything with Grampa ... I know I would have made a mess of it if you hadn't been there to help out. And if you hadn't helped, I wouldn't have gotten the chance at all, so.

So thanks.

Queen takes knight.

Check, Lady Eve.

For all that those notes from Forna are flying around these days, I have to say, it seems odd to me that not a single one has ever mentioned the survivors of the House. Hasn't anyone else noticed? They all use the names of the dead. Maxwell, Sebastian, James, oh, it's all in history if you look for it. James, why, that's the name of the very last lord who died, and how very disrespectful for the recent dead. Though I can hardly say I'm surprised.

And meanwhile, the survivors of the bloodline are still alive and well, and resting warm and safe under my wing. How convenient, that the notes never mention that.

Good evening, my prince.

I admit, I've been rather concerned about you. First, those men you sent me at the first of July were so maimed and abused I could scarcely make use of any of them, and your missive with them was so very brief and rushed. And then, why, I've heard not a word from you since, not even in response to my own letters.

Word is -- among many, many other interesting words -- that you're not the force in Razen you once were. Do tell me it's not true. It would be too tragic for me to see, like a cheetah in a cage.
