Work's been a little better lately. Not by much, but it feels like we're not getting as many crazy drunks and loud people...it probably won't last, though.

I've been thinking more about a different job. Doing work for the church might be a good idea, even Diane thinks so. But Maybeth thinks I should do something that earns money...I think she's worried about what might happen if Diane quits her job. I think she just might...James has his work, but we can't live on just the money he brings in.

Maybe Diane will look for another job, too. One that she can be happier with.

Ugh, all right, everything is almost together here. Fuck, this has been such a fucking headache. I really fucking wish Flo had just dealt with some of this, herself.

Whatever, I guess, it's mostly all done, now. We're leaving on Monday and it's just all the little shit left to do. Of course, then we're going to be on the road for an age, hot and dusty and all that shit. Colndor might stink like a privy, but at least there's wind off the water. Something tells me it's going to be a fucking fireplace in the passes.

Any luck with that shit you were going to figure out, Lark?

I'm still not sure moving is the best idea, but at this point I'll just be glad to get going.

Something isn't right with the pose. And I don't like her hind legs at all. I cobbled this together from all the pegasi that we saw pass by, today. I didn't have a real model, and that always shows.

I do like the line of her neck, though. There's a natural ... how do you say. [a pause] Ah, Druce told me. There's an natural elegance to a pegasus. I don't think this is my best drawing, but I think the line of her neck captures that quality of the animal ...

They're very beautiful.

I've ... very much enjoyed these days we've spent together in the city.

It's different, isn't it? Everything between us feels different, when we're apart from the others.

Mother's little farewell event for me last night was hardly neccessary. I've been doing this for years, after all.

Ah, but maybe it was more for Patrick's benefit. It's strange to see, after all his years begging to come along, how little he wants to leave home. It makes sense, after what he went through his first time in the field. He finally realizes it's not games and glory out there. Still, I think all the young ladies swooning over how dashing he's become would be less than impressed at his hesitance, last night.

Well, he's more than old enough to be coming, and he seemed a little more spirited this morning when I checked in on him to see if he was ready. I think he'll handle himself well enough.

Should I say farewell to my sisters again at the gates? I think we'll be off just after noon.
