...I did the right thing, didn't I?

It's been a few weeks, now. I hope they're doing okay out there...I wonder if I should write to them?

How silly, even after I was forced to give them such terrible news I'm still too nervous to start a conversation with them.

Oh...oh, my. I've just received a letter from Mother, and she wishes to come visit Lireth this spring. She seems quite insistent about it as well...I suppose I can understand that, it's been many years since I last saw her and she does have yet to meet her granddaughters.

I haven't written back to her yet with an answer, of course...

I have some rather bad news. My plan to book an extra week for the run has fallen on deaf ears. The theatre owner doesn't believe the tickets will sell for that long. We haven't fared too poorly, but she feels its better to be free for another play. I think she's rather tired of us altogether, and once the contract is up there will be no convincing her otherwise.

Venise and Arman have both approached me separately wondering if we have any more need of their services. They are both still on my payroll, but Venise has been penning a play of her own lately that I don't think she wants to come to the attention of the upper class. I believe Arman is simply curious how long he can spend all day in the company of that lovely woman he found while still getting paid.

I was wondering if you had an idea in mind for them before I put them to work myself?

I am growing rather concerned with my tent, and by extension Nessa's tent. We did have the foresight to have it patched in Floran, however it's somehow managed to attract holes again. So far an old shirt has provided a good deal of the material I've been sewing onto it, but we found out last night that the shirt can't stand up to January in Korin as well as the rest of the tent can. I am hoping some concerned citizens would have some spare thick material.

I hope you're not too busy? Though I suppose you could always just wait to answer when you're not busy anymore... Still, I am hoping to get a little bit of advice.

As lovely as it has been to have Jurea home again after so long ... I had forgotten how trying she can be. Especially for me. She just refuses to let things lie, even those matters which should not concern her. I may be a man but I am still capable of managing my own affairs.

What happened to you and Edeyn ...? Everyone is very worried, you know. You should have written and told us about it.

Just leave me alone, Mother. Since when have you ever been able to help at times like this? Sometimes I don't even think you actually care about what I'm going through, just about how it disrupts your precious plan for everyone and everything.

Oh Tessa ...

I'm sorry everyone had to see that. Or at least hear it.

Mom's dress is a bit heavy for a spring wedding. And I'm sure it's really out of style now too. Not that I really know much about that. Or care though, well ... if I have to get it altered anyway I suppose I might as well look into updating things.

At least this part of planning is pretty easy.

Or at least I think it is. I might have just jinxed things though ...

Hey girls, I was wondering if you could help me out a bit?

It was a cold day today. I was walking along the courtyard, happy to breathe some fresh air, even if it was chilly, though I suspect I will receive a scolding from Lady Vivien should I fall ill~ And I stopped to look out to the courtyard. There were knights there, waving their swords about. Training, I suppose. But what struck me at that moment was how young some of the men were. Why, the youngest of them could not have been older than fifteen, at least.

The time I have with Aaron safely by my side seemed so short, then. The land may be at peace now, but who can know what will happen in ten or fifteen years? And then my little boy will have to ride away, leading his men out.

Sometimes, I wonder how lady Vivien has borne it.
