Colour no longer suits me. You would not like to hear me say so, but it is true.

Almost a month late.

... Dragons, why is this happening?

Haha, dead to them, that is what they said, isn't it? I wonder if they light a candle for me, then. That would be too much to ask, wouldn't it?

No, Lady Ash, I'm quite fine. Just ... fine.

... uh.

You, uh ... you looked ... really nice ... at that party the other night, heh ...

Yeah. Anyways, I just wanted to say that. Right.

It's only... servants. There is no other possiblity. What do they want?

They are the ones who started seeing these things in the first place... Do they want more gold? An elaborate ploy the kind my wife would see through in a heartbeat. They want me to go to her. They know how close we are... If they are setting something up for her, I would be playing into their hands.

I will not be the weak link. I will ... I can't. I am still too old to believe in this nonsense. They can't stalk me everywhere.

You missed one of the best parties man. Your kind of crowd too. Lots of the sour stuff to go around. Dunno if they celebrate in the dungeon.

Oh yeah, Lady Jeia wants you to know you don't have a future in the caravan guarding business anymore. Not with her anyway. Didn't argue with her or nothing since I dunno if I believe any of this. The fair lady is fair and all, but her reach kinda ends at the sand in my opinion. Too bad you're trapped here and all.

Think smuggling you something to drink is criminal or something? I like you an all, but I don't much care for chains 'round my feet. I dunno how long you'll survive without one though.

Think it's about time to make some more time. Especially since everything seems to be going good right now. Was thinking about having a nice little dinner. Discuss stuff like how you enjoyed that party and everything? Promising good times here.

REACTIONS: Nessa hasn't really shown any signs. Dunno how I could tell though. Hard to read older women. Not my kind of thing, sorry.

Oh, but Druce finally cracked the spine of his present. Seen him reading it in public, going red as a beat as he turned one of the pages, and he's been a bit quiet ever since.

Things are going pretty good here otherwise. How's home?

[Filter: Fayre]

Think you had the right idea there. Dunno if I told you that at the party or not since I did get a bit drunk there. Probably did!

Anyone know if there's a simpler way to filter? My hands are getting cramped here trying to write all the ones I need to down. Adding 'bout twelve letters to everything seemed a bit fun at first, but now it's getting a bit annoying. Guess the novelty is wearing off.

What are the chances Keir would stick a sharped piece of steel through me if I flew there under a peace banner with a handful of men?

The land here is quite magnificent. That is, if you enjoy woods that are so mangled they can hardly be cleared. We do seem to be on the trail of some interesting men though. They can't evade us for very much longer. Also, we have come to the conclusion that the heavy taxation in this area has had an adverse effect on how many people live here. We will lose six hundred gold a year in the settlement I reached with the mayor out here, but we can expect this area to develop at a much faster rate. The reaction so far has been exciting.
